The Triumph Bonneville is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2008.  Triumph Bonneville is marking the occasion  of the 50th anniversary of the famous Triumph Bonneville by producing two unique one-off designs, each conceived by an iconic collaborator, synonymous with style and British motorcycl.

The timeless style and shape of the Triumph Bonneville makes it a pleasure to work with.” “I wanted to use a traditional waxed cotton material as it has such a resonance with the history of style in motorcycling and mix it with the tradition of coppering tanks. I am a huge fan of Steve McQueen and his films from the 1960s, and the font that I have chosen for the Triumph Bonneville logo harks back to that golden era of biking.

The Belstaff motorcycle fashion label is now Italian-owned, but the company still plays on its gritty English heritage. Earlier this year it teamed up with Triumph Bonneville to create a limited edition to mark the Triumph Bonneville 50th anniversary. Triumph Bonneville Another definition of an icon is a person who is “the object of great attention and devotion.” Indeed, many fans of Triumph Bonneville love their Bonnies so much as to personify the machine, pay homage to it and worship at the alter of the British Twin.This is such an exciting project for me – the Triumph Bonneville has to be the ultimate in iconic British motorcycles, so the chance to create my very own design and see it through to production is amazing.

You don’t have to buy a classic to get an authentic feel of Fifties and Sixties British bikes. I’m not talking about modern retro bikes, those such as Triumph Bonneville, which bring back the look of the British parallel twin, but a more direct connection.A 2005 Triumph Bonneville is seen at left, beside a 1965 model. Triumph Bonneville was dead and buried in the 1970s, then the first  new Triumph Bonneville appeared in 1990 and the company has never looked back, evolving into a still relatively small, but significant player in the worldwide motorcycle market.

The original Bonnie received pivotal updates and enhancements in 1969; key among them was improved carburetion. Like its 1969 ancestor, the 2009 Triumph Bonneville has received a major update where petrol mixes with air. Instead of improved carbs, EFI is the name of the game. Fuel-injection is now standard across the entire line of what Triumph Bonneville calls the Modern Classics: all three versions of the Triumph Bonneville as well as the Thruxton and Scrambler.

The T100 still rolls on spoke wheels and continues use of a 19-inch front wheel. This old schooler also touts chrome engine cases, two-tone paint, a seat incorporating the Triumph Bonneville logo, fuel tank with Triumph Bonneville badge and rubber knee pads just like days of yore, fork gators, “peashooter” exhaust and tachometer.

                                                                                                                                                                                       Like last year, the current Triumph Bonneville line consists of three models, but this year two of three are distinctly different. The more basic Triumph Bonneville and snazzier Triumph Bonneville now have cast-aluminum inch wheels front and rear, and borrow the Thruxton’s shorter front fender as well as its exhaust. The new wheels and fender save over 18 pounds according to Triumph Bonneville

And new, short-stature or women riders have a very classy and exceptionally welcoming alternative to offerings from Japan and the U.S.

By 1978, however, the Triumph Bonneville was something of an anachronism in the world of motor cycling. it had an old-fashioned twin-cylinder, pushrod engine in a world dominated by multi-cylinder machines from japan. astonishingly, the Triumph Bonneville was still the best selling 750 in britain during 1978 in spite of the fact that this was one of the most competitiveclasses on the market.

These types of cancers are difficult to discuss, especially in the rural areas.
